Mr. Tyrone of East Saint Louis

Remember when I stated that I’d start blogging/writing more?

Hey Y’all!

This past weekend, the family and I drove up to Illinois for the weekend to celebrate one of the recent high school graduates in the family, Miss Anae! It was a very special celebration, because if you knew her story as an infant, you’d be celebrating right along with us! Anyway, that isn’t mine story to tell!…We did also, all have customized shirts that we wore the entire day!

(Oh yeah, I just wanted to chime in and say that her graduating class had about 30 students total!)

The graduation was on Saturday morning, so that afternoon, we ended up celebrating with some music and food outside! I ended noticing Mr. Tyrone outside in his front lawn, gearing up and about take a ride on his bike. It was hot out but I’m sure that breeze from that bike ride was going to be amazing!

As he was putting on her gear, I kindly walked up to him to introduce myself and asked him if I could grab a few images! He gave me the GO Ahead! After about 20 minutes, he was fully geared up! I started shooting him again and he got so into them that he asked me to pause so that he could grab something inside his home!

(see image below!)

Our conversation and “shoot” lasted about 25 minutes. Besides him telling me he was from East Saint Louis, Illinois, coincidently, he also lived in Texas and has family out here as well. He also told me about his Bike Crew that he’s still in, but they are back home in East Saint Louis.

Unexpectedly, he asked me about what type of film that I was shooting with, and I informed him that this camera is a digital, but I do have a film camera inside. That’s when I got a little curious, and decided to ask him if he shoots film photography. He told me he no longer shoots and that he did years ago and also used a darkroom, letting me know that’s where you really control the lighting.

(I really wanted to see his photographs that he’d taken but I believe he didn’t have any inside his home)

After few more shots and an exchange of emails, I had to head back across the street to the graduation party and Mr. Tyrone of East Saint Louis was headed for a beautiful drive!
