The past two weekends in March 2023, I’ve had the pleasure of photographing a weekend of Baseball and a weekend of Basketball.

March 1-3rd, I had the opportunity to shoot the Frisco Classic located in Frisco, Texas which consists of 4 college baseball teams playing each other for a whole weekend. This year, the teams were Oklahoma University, Ohio State University, Mississippi State University and California. While I did miss the games for Friday, I made sure I was able to come Saturday and Sunday.

Last year was my first year and for majority of the first 2 games, I stayed in the pin near the dugout but this year I took a different approach. I stayed out of the dugout and took advantage of the many available seat throughout the arena…and I’m so glad I took that approach. I created more opportunities for myself to get creative and also get shots I did not think to capture my first year!

March 11-12th, I had the opportunity to shoot at the Dickies Arena in Ft. Worth, Texas for the AAC basketball championship weekend! I remember sending out a spam of emails to local venues/arenas near me and probably a few months later, Dickies arena responded back to me!

I’d have to admit that it was a bit overwhelming because this was my first time, so I was literally learning as I go! I see the mistakes I made and I’m ready to get back out on these courts and try again!
